Anuradha Halan specializes in authentic Toda Embroidery products. Todas are a pastoral community in the Nilgiris who make handmade clothing using two prominent colours- red and black dominant over a white background. Though being of the Badaga community, Anuradha Halan wanted to contribute her skills to uplift the Todas and has been doing so, since the past 15 years. Working closely with the community, she specializes in making shawls, bedsheets, runners, jackets and even custom makes products.
Inspired by her mentor Evam Piljen Wiedemann, Anuradha Halan wants to continue working for the betterment of the Toda community to eliminate counterfeit Toda products. She considers her husband and the women working alongside her, the support pillars of her entrepreneurial journey.
